Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays BTN!
Staff have been busy little elves preparing for the holidays and we have lots of exciting charity events, contests, advent calendars and new designs going on. But first, a little poetry:
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the site, not a troll was trolling, not even a bite.
The gifts were set out by the Christmas style Remy, In hopes that St Nicholas would bring us an Emmy.
The members watch tv all snug in their beds, While visions of Kenyz, burned in their heads.
When out on the homepage there arose such a post, I sprang from the slumber to see what was up with the host.
Straight to the forums I flew like a flash, Began reading the posts and they announced a new bash!
The staff were announcing such a new and exciting things! Gave the members of mid-night the urge to sing.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a Santa Remy, and eight tiny reindeer.
With a little old driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, and he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
"Now Olfa! now, Bitey! now, Xe11os and chimpchimp! On, Freshness! On, Marflaming and Kenyz! on, chris10000 and AzzA!
To the top of the post! to the top of them all! Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"
And then, with a twinkling, I read in the post the staff have just announced a change with the host!
As I adjusted my screen, and was turning around, Down on the page, St. Remy came with a bound.
He posted not a word, but went straight to his work, And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose, And towards the mods a question he posed!
“How is BTN going to give back to the world?” He asked. The mods were stumped but then remembered the past!
Waffles the year before had done something cool! So this year we have decided to join the pool!
We here at BTN think the holidays should be a time to give back to others, as do our friends over at Waffles (especially michelle for having a great idea). We have decided to join in their holiday charitable donations so here is the deal...
START DATE: Thursday, November 25 / END DATE: Sunday, January 2nd
We will have three different charity drives:
Part 1: Food Drive – Provide non-perishable food to your local shelter and take a picture to earn 250BP PER FOOD ITEM. More Information Here
Part 2: Blanket/Clothing Drives – Donate blankets, coats, sleeping bags, clothing or other needed supplies to your local charities and take a picture to receive between 500 and 5,000 points PER ITEM. More Information Here
Part 3: Toy Drive – Just purchase a NEW toy and to it to a local charity or make an online donation through http://www.childsplaycharity.org/ to receive 5,000 to 10,000 points PER TOY. More Information Here
NOTES:
* Each drive has its own individual thread; this is to keep track of points, and save what's left of the staffers' sanity.
* All points will be given out in January after threads have been locked.

Fancy yourself a poetry writer? Try your hand at re-writing a famous Christmas poem with new BTN-themed prose.
Post your own poem in the forums! All entries are due by December 25th. Staff will select the ten best and create a poll for users to vote on. All serious entries posted will receive 500 bonus points, if you make it to the top ten you will receive an additiona 1,000 bonus points and the top three vote getters will receive another 1,500 (3rd), 2,500 (2nd) and 5,000 (1st) bonus points.
We also added a new Christmas CSS theme for the holidays!
